E-COMMERCE APPLICATION FOR REWARDS & POINTS

ROLE
UX Designer & Visual Designer
Native app - iOS
Involved with end-to-end product life cycle. Right from conceptualization to create design and management for the product.
My role was integral to design the experience strategy of the product including interaction design and visual design. Collaborated with multiple stakeholders to design an optimal product solution.
CHALLENGE
This application is a white label application that allows customers to earn rewards in the loyalty currency of the grocer, or other large rewards program, outside of the grocery store.
As this is a loyalty based program the product needed to display the cross channel between several brands and not be just dedicated to one specific brand.
This concept is fairly new and brings an opportunity to the customer to earn point at a grocery store and spend those points to buy product from a different brand.
The challenge was to bridge a solution between the loyalty programs and the small and medium merchants that benefits the customers.
APPROACH
-
We strived for creating deeper relationships with customers. Giving the customer as many options as possible for letting them choose their list of merchants by location and also by searching a specific merchant.
-
For example, a user could shop at merchants in the same strip mall in which the grocery store is located and earn fuel rewards from the grocer through the mobile application that will be white labelled for the large rewards program partner.
-
Being a competitive market we needed to define and design an app that would meet the needs of the consumer.
-
We started with designing tools and platform that allows small merchants to issue rewards to their custom.
-
To speed up our process I started sketching and white‐boarding concepts and flows with the entire design team and then translating these directly into hi‐fidelity design deliverables, wireframes and prototype
WORKFLOWS AND INTERACTION

Our goal was to motivate the customer to adopt and retain the product. The research indicated to provide solution which bridges between participating merchants and the large brands with an interface for consumers. There were few challenges to label and come have certain terminologies as it involved creating a white label for all this existing top brands put next to each other. Mapping out workflows helped us design a definitive path involving all the main actors.

VISUAL DESIGN
After rigorous iterations of interaction design we speeded our process by sketching out wireframes and directly taking them to visual design. It was challenging to sort out the order with that many brands and that many locations. Evaluating these concepts with the stakeholders narrowed down our choices and helped us make better design decisions.
